The 732AMS Addressable Moisture Sensor is designed to detect the presence
of moisture in contained areas and report the information via a Sparton
Monitoring System. These contained areas typically are but not limited to:
underground, buried and aerial splice cases, terminals and enclosures. The
732AMS utilizes proven addressable technology that has been mated with a
reliable high technology sensor cable that is installed in computer rooms
around the world.
When dry, the sensor reads the resistor pad installed at the end of the
sensor cable as a normal condition. When wet, the sensor shorts and
resistance drops dramatically. Electronics in the 732 AMS then encodes
these values and reports this information back to the monitoring equipment
for processing.
The 732 AMS assists the technician to effectively correct the alarm
condition by pinpointing the location of moisture penetration.
The sensor cable is reusable and once dried the resistance returns to its
normal state and the 732 AMS will perform as it did when in its previously
dry condition. The 732AMS is designed to withstand the harsh environment
of the outside plant environment and will detect moisture on as little a
¼” of the sensing cable.
